Bedenken is a sustainability project based on the premise of "upcycling" different materials that were destined for the junkyard. This system takes old catalytic converters from vehicles and re-purposes them into a lamp that both commemorates a fallen vehicle and takes advantage of the unique lighting qualities it [catalytic converter] presents.

The system itself comprises of several sections and takes the user on a journey to commemorate a beloved vehicle that has recently been deemed unusable by the government or simply been into an accident becoming unusable. There are thousands of parts that could be salvaged from the vehicle, but the catalytic converter stands out due to it's inability to be safely recycled. What if we could use that to preserve the legacy of the vehicle?
